His showname was given to him according to the Arthurian Legend and also because of the show Merlin on BBC. :3 Also, sometimes we call him "Sir Lancelot" at home.

The highest we've jumped is 5'4. Our highest dressage score was 36. He has never done Western riding, only English. His favorite treat is apples and peanuts. His canter is a little bit bouncy, but I don't really mind. His trot is the perfect gait for him. When he jumps, he doesn't "slither" over the fences like some crap horses do. He actually JUMPS them.



How I Got His Name:

According to the legend AND of the TV show, Merlin BBC, Sir Lancelot was a knight. He was in love with Guinevere [aka Gwen] but she liked Arthur Pendragon more than Lancelot. I won't go on, because it I do, I can go on FOREVER xD I am a huge fan of the Arthurian legend.

Anyway, that's how I got my horse's name. Sir Lancelot WAS NOT noble. Nor is my horse... [he isn't blue-blooded, is he?] and nor was the real person Sir Lancelot. Lancelot was a humble knight who had great swordsmanship skills. That's how my horse got his name. My Lancelot was pretty good at eventing and all that, he was also very humble (and I can tell.)

I love my girl so much. She is quite stubborn and is very opinionated, but has a lot of fun with most of the things we do. She loves jumping and showing, she always likes to show herself off. Some of the stuff that requires more brainpower, she isn't always very fond of :P

How we met: we met at my trainer's stable, after the first horse I rode there suffered an injury that gave her early retirement as someone's pet horse rather than riding mount; he stuck me on her during her "recovery" phase, when he was switching her from Western to English discipline. Oh the head-yanking and fence-rubbing... three years later, I bought her when he closed his lesson rides to people without horses, and she's a well-mannered mare that doesn't have a problem with bucking or such. I love her so much because no matter how good I get at some point of riding, she has something more for me. I'll never outgrow her. There's always something more I can do that brings out the best of her and me both.



And I love'r to bits!!! My beautiful, nutty, sweet, charismatic, diva star/mystical unicorn! Forgive my bragging; I looooove my horse.

Marley's hobbies include: Standing in the snow and farting, kicking Jehovah's Witnesses that come into the yard, dining on double-bean burritos from Taco Bell and he really wants to write an autobiography. When Marley is not working he enjoys reality TV and gameshows. His favourite gameshow is Wheel of Fortune and he usually guesses the puzzle correctly before the contestants or even me (and I'm no slouch at The Wheel). One time Marley and I tried to play the Nintendo Wii together but since Marely doesn't have opposable thumbs he had to hold the controller in his mouth. In a moment of excitement Marley bit down a little too hard on the controller and cracked it. I was furious but quickly realized that it was my own stupid fault for trying to play Wii with a horse.
