*he has been dewormed

One of our horses seems to be having a hard time putting on weight. He's an 11yr old gelding, around 16 hands. We've had him for like 3 years and he's always been a good weight, but he lost some of it and then gained a little of it back. He had gotten pretty skinny looking. His ribs were showing bad and his hind quarters were not as full as they should've been. He's lookin a little better now but still under weight. He eats lots of hay and everything. Why isn't he gaining more weight? We have 2 other horses, one 15yro and a 7yro. And a pony and there all fine. They look good and are all at good weights. Do you have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Once again...what are you feeding him? Corn and oats? Just corn? Is he getting timothy or alfalfa? How many times a day? And instead of reposting you can just add details to the question by hitting the edit button then add details.

Edit:

Alfalfa hey is the best (so, you're good there), the equivalent of 4 lbs in morning and evening then throw about a pound in the afternoon.

Add crushed corn to the oats mixture (crushed means more time to absorb nutrients and less time trying to break it down) and feed 2 scoops in the morning and evening.

Keep up with the molasses, but make sure not to feed too much it can cause insulin problems. This may sound like a lot, but as long as you work him on a regular basis it'll be fine.

Try sand clearing him. And graining him. Or possible calling out the vet.
