books- A horse to remember, Flicka, Black Stallion (walter Farley), Saddle Club, Hoof beats, Heartland, The Horse whisperer, Thoroughbred, Phantom Stallion, Phantom Stallion Wild horse Island (both are by Terri Farley), King of the wind, Black Gold, Mist's Twilight, Sea Star, Horse Thief ( by the same guy that wrote a day no pigs would die, If your 7-11 Miranda's starlight and Starlight's courage, Taming star runner is partly about horses, The Golden Filly, that's all I can think of

Books Marguerite Henry wrote at least a dozen,including Misty of Chincoteague.... Another popular series : My Friend Flicka,Thunderhead, Green Grass of Wyoming.... all the Black Stallion and Island Stallion books by Walter Farley......Publishers Grosset & Dunlap had a series called "Famous Horse Stories" that included "Kentucky Derby Winner" about the first horse to win the Derby and "Cinchfoot: A Range Horse" ...Anything by Will James, author of "Smokey"..."The Golden Stallion " series..."The Young Mustangers"...you can find a lot of these on Amazon.
