Hi, I just thought i'd give y'all some easy points xD
Anyways, here are the horse questions:

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

2. Western or English?

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?

4. Do you use bits?

5. Rope or nylon halters?

6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)

7. How long have you had a love for horses?

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?

10. Do you care about conformation?

11. Favorite horse movie?

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

13. Do you stall your horse?

14. Anything else you might want to add?? Pictures, horsey fun facts, or what ever you'd like.

Here are my answers!

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?
I've been around & riding horses for about 2 years.
2. Western or English?
Western
3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?
I don't really like showing. I could give you a long list on why I don't like showing.. Lol
4. Do you use bits?
No, I do not use bits. If you get your horse to respect you, you won't need them.
5. Rope or nylon halters?
Rope.
6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)
Yes, I have a QH x Arab mare. She has a bay coat, 3 socks and a thin blaze. She is super polite, a bit of a tester (not for beginners) and she is about 7 years old. She is usually a laid back horse.
7. How long have you had a love for horses?
For as long as I can remember....
8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?
I love Appys, and Quarter horses! And I'm not the biggest fan of Purebred Arabians either.
9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?
I think Dun, and silver grullo are pretty coats. Well, i do like all coats, but i suppose if i picked my least favorite, it'd have to be liver chestnut.
10. Do you care about conformation?
No, conformation is overrated. I don't think it matters, because it's about the horse, not about what they look like.
11. Favorite horse movie?
I thought Black Beauty was an okay movie!
12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?
The only time I've ever braided my horses mane, was to train it to the other side (I have a slight OCD, and it bugged me how half her mane was on 1 side and half was on the other lol) otherwise I'd rather not braid horse's manes and tails.
13. Do you stall your horse?
No, I do not like stalling horses.

1. Well, I've had my horse for 7 years, but prior to that time I took a few lessons.

2. I ride Western, and sometimes bareback.

3. I don't show, but I think it's great.

4. I use a sweet iron snaffle bit. My theory is that a bit should be a tool for communication, not for yanking the horse around! I'm all for riding bitless, too. Occasionally I just use a halter.

5. I use a rope halter, firstly because I do natural horsemanship, and second I just like it better. You can communicate much more effectively with a horse using a rope halter than you can with a nylon.

6. I have a bay Grade Horse mare named Ellie, she's 19 years young and 14.2 hh. We love trail riding! Ellie is very laid-back and quiet for the most part but she is a natural-born alpha mare, so being her herd leader requires constant maintenance! But on the whole she's a great horse. :)

7. I've always loved animals, but I think my love for horses really ran away with me when I was about seven years old.

8. How do I pick a favorite breed?!!! Well, I like horses with a lot of color, and I love Mountain Horses, Clydesdales, and Akhal-Tekes! My least favorite is the Bashkir Curly...I just think all those curls look really weird!

9. Again, I love colorful horses! But there's something about a good 'ole brown horse that makes my day.

10. If a horse's conformation isn't perfect, that's okay. But if the way a horse is built means it's going to have trouble carrying a rider (like being in pain because of it), then it matters a lot more. It wouldn't be fair to ask something of a horse if the horse's build is going to make it uncomfortable to do it.

11. Ummm...I love Secretariat! And there's another one called Flash. You have to get it on VHS so it's hard to find and really expensive if you do find it, but it's awesome!

12. I love braided manes (although I don't braid my horse's) but I have never liked the look of a tail braided right down to the bottom. I do like the braids they use for showing English, though.

13. My horse is not stalled. Even if we had a stall I don't know that I'd use it. Maybe for the very worst of weather, but I believe it's healthier for the horse if he can be kept outside. (My horse does have shelter and a blanket for when she needs it, though, so I do make sure she's covered!)

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

About 10 months. It would be nearly a year if the horse I was on did not spook at a tractor and start galloping away.

2. Western or English?

English.

I've got nothing against small shows but I am not a fan of showing. I showed once.

Yes, normal snaffles normally.

Nylon.

Not at the moment. I might loan soon though.

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

- Pretty much my whole life.

2. Western or English?

- English

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?

- I compete in show-jumping and mounted games. I think showing and dressage are the disciplines where horse show snobs and crazy people make competing seem like its about who has the most money, fanciest horse etc. Show-jumping and mounted games are fun sports and even in the top Olympic levels you don't really find snobby people.

4. Do you use bits?

- Yes

5. Rope or nylon halters?

- Nylon

6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)

- Yes, I own two. A 16hh TB chestnut mare, and a 14.2hh bay pony (not sure of breeding) mare.

7. How long have you had a love for horses?

- Since forever

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?

- My favourite would have to be a Thoroughbred or Warmblood.

My least favourite would have to be a Fjord or Arab.

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?

- My favourite coat colour would have to be a bright chestnut or a paint. My least favorite colours are probably dun.

10. Do you care about conformation?

- Nope. Even a horse that has conformation flaws can still make an awesome all round horse. The only conformation problems I care about are ones that seriously affect the horse and how it moves.

11. Favorite horse movie?

- Moondance Alexander or Second Chances. I really like the Heartland TV series as well.

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

- I think it's cool and cute. It's also necessary for showing and dressage or other fancy horse sports.

13. Do you stall your horse?

- No, my horses are turned out 24/7 and I think they are more happier living life like that. My horses would hate to be cooped up outside.

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

Pretty much my whole life.

2. Western or English?

English.

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?

It's definitely an excellent way to rate you and your horse's progress, as long as you have a good judge. In dressage shows, each movement is individually rated (so you can see what your strengths and weaknesses are) and the judge(s) will include lots of helpful comments. :) However, currently I'm not showing, since it's expensive and I'd rather save the money for lessons.

4. Do you use bits?

Yes, I think bits are a necessary communication tool. Not because you need them to dominate the horse, but because it's difficult to communicate certain things that you want the horse to do without enough control over the mouth. A bit is just another aid: that is, it's meant to aid you in communicating with the horse, not to use it as a tool to punishment. Furthermore, plenty of bitless bridles (like hackamores) can be a lot more severe than a gentle bit because of the pressure on the nasal area - so unless you use a rope around the horse's neck I just don't get the point.

5. Rope or nylon halters?

Nylon, I suppose, although I would prefer leather, since it's the only safe option for trailering.

6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)

No, unfortunately I don't currently own a horse. :(

7. How long have you had a love for horses?

Like, fahevah. :) I don't remember I time when I decided that I loved horses; I just grew up around riding and horses.

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?

Favorite: Hanoverian. Least favorite: um, I suppose a Shire - it would be a nightmare to feed those horses. ;)

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?

Favorite: chestnut. :) Least favorite: grays, they're a nightmare to keep clean.

10. Do you care about conformation?

Of course! Conformation isn't just saying "ehh, I like that horse's head better" or "OMG I hate it when their toes are all pointy and stuff!" It's looking at how a horse is built and what he can accomplish with that. A dressage horse and a jumper's conformation can be very different, because some conformations work for dressage and some work for jumping. So, yeah, conformation isn't just "what they look like," it's what they can do.

11. Favorite horse movie?

Secretariat was frikkin' awesome, but I think it gives people the wrong impression of the racing industry (which is a God-awful thing), so not my favorite.

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

Pretty, evenly spaced classical braids. What can I say... I was raised by a DQ. ;)

13. Do you stall your horse?

Well, my horse doesn't exist, but certainly I think it's a very bad idea and should be avoided if at all possible. It's unnatural for the horse and being boxed up in such a tiny thing all day is a disservice to the heart they put into their work.

14. Anything else you might want to add?? Pictures, horsey fun facts, or what ever you'd like.

Um... well, I do ballet, and I swear, sometimes my ballet instructors and riding instructors/books say EXACTLY the same thing. For example, in Sally Swift's Centered Riding, she talks about imagining there's a spring pulling your center forward. The next week in ballet class, one of my ballet instructors was talking about imaging that there are strings pulling your hips and center forward. I was dying to say "Sally Swift agrees!", but I don't think she'd know who that was. ;)

I think it's cute, but I like it better when it's long and flowing.

1. i'm not sure but a long time :)

2.english

3.I love showing! I show every weekend

4. yes i use bits

5. leather halters

6. yes i own 2 horses, a 16.3 bay Irish Sport horse and a 15.2 bay Canadian Warmblood

7. Since I was born

8.I don't have a favourite or a least favourite, LOVE THEM ALL :D

9. favourite- black least favourite-grey

10. I do care about conformation, not if they are ugly or not but the way they are built. I do show jumping so if my horse didn't have the right conformation for it, for example a downhill back, then for me that would be a problem.

11. Black Beauty and Virginia's Run

12. I don't braid, sure it looks nice but it's uncomfortable for the horse. I only braid if it is required for the class we're showing in or if his mane is falling all over the place.

13. at night unless it's a really hot night, during really cold days in winter, and sometimes a couple hours in the day

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses? Most of my life - so about 45+ yrs.

2. Western or English? Like certain things about each and ride in both and also enjoy dressage.

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show? I enjoy competition and I do show my horses.

4. Do you use bits? Yes, of course!. I have dozens depending on the horse and riding style. It has nothing to do with respect but is all about guiding a horse through his paces.

5. Rope or nylon halters? I have some of each.

6. Do you own a horse? I have 2 Registered Quarter Horses (one is bright sorrel with lots of chrome, and the other is a Buckskin), and three registered Paint Horses (I have a gorgeous black and white Medicine Hat Tovero, a bay Tobiano, and a sorrel frame Overo)

7. How long have you had a love for horses? All of my life.

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite? I love Quarters and Paints equally, but also think Arabs are gorgeous. I don't think I have a least favorite horse. I'm a true horse enthusiast and think they are all beautiful.

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite? Love Sorrel or black and white Overos, also love gun metal greys (even though they don't stay that way). Not crazy about seal brown.

10. Do you care about conformation? OF COURSE! You have to. It's all about what the horse is best built to do. Correct conformation should be at the top of every horse owners priority! Conformation IS the horse!

11. Favorite horse movie? Horse Whisperer - but favorite book was and is Black Beauty.

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail? I braid when called for in English riding competition.

13. Do you stall your horse? During show season, Yes! But in the off season, they have a barn, but are also pastured.

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

I've been around horses since I was 8, I'm now 15.

2. Western or English?

I prefer western. I need that horn to hold onto if anything goes wrong!

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?

I havent shown before, but I would love to get into it.

4. Do you use bits?

I prefer to use a hackamore if its possible to use it. I have a one horse that I use a hackamore on. My other two I use bits with just because they are young and i would like to have as much control as possible.

5. Rope or nylon halters?

I think that nylon halters are much more comfortable for the horse, although the metal on it could be uncomfortable. I just think the knots rubbing on there face would hurt.

6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)

I own three. My gelding is a 12 year old quater horse, he's sorrel with 3 socks and a blaze. He is super goofy, he makes some weird noises and is super clumsy. He can sometimes be quite stubborn also. I have a 4 year old halflinger mare who is top mare. She thinks she is the boss of everyone. She is incredibly strong and hard headed. Then my 5 year old dutch warmblood paint mare. She is such a little kid. She picks her feet up super goofy and she's a little thing too, she gets picked onby my other horses. She is a bit spooky, but curious. I need to work with her the most. She is gorgeous, She is sorrel with a flaxen maine and tail. her body look more like a appy than a paint, but on her neck it starts to get to an actual paint look and she has a bald face.

7. How long have you had a love for horses?

since I first saw one!

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?

My favorite is probably a quater horse, they can be good at just about anything and come in all sizes and colors. Least favorite are probably standardbreds.

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?

I'm drawn to sorrel horses. I really do not like appaloosas or bays.

10. Do you care about conformation?

to and extent i do, the conformation has to atleast be decent.

11. Favorite horse movie?

Hmm.. probably war horse.

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

i leave my horses alone. every once and a while if i get bored i sometimes braid them, but never leave it in.

13. Do you stall your horse?

Right now i dont, they just have a lean-to. We are building a barn though and i will be stalling them at night. I dont particulary like stalling them. they are only ever in at the night.

1. I have been riding for 9+ years, and been around them for about 10 years.

2. English

3. I love showing, think that it is so much fun and a good experience. I try to show a few times during the summer. I have been showing for about 6+ years.

4. Yes I use bits.

5. I use nylon halters with a leather strap on the top.

6. Yes, I own a Dutch Warmblood, 15.3 bay gelding named Lotto. His show name is Lucky Charm and he has two socks and a star. He is incredibly sweet which isn't always easy to come by.

7. I have always loved horses my entire life.

8. My favorite horse breed has to be a Welsh or a Warmblood. don't really have a least favorite.

9. My favorite horse coat has to be chestnut or a dapple grey. When ever my chestnut pony was dirty she still looked clean (not that I didn't try to keep her clean).

10. I like to have a horse with a good conformation but i don't think that extremely important because if a horse does their job, and is a good, sweet horse it shouldn't matter.

11. Black Beauty has to be my favorite horse movie because it was my childhood favorite.

12. I like the look of a braided horse but it is so much work!

13. Yes, I stall my horse but he gets all day turnout.

1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

I've been riding for 5 years but have been around horses for probably about 7 or 8.

2. Western or English?

English

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?

I enjoy it, but I don't think it's the most important thing. I just do it for fun, not to win.

4. Do you use bits?

Yes.

5. Rope or nylon halters?

Nylon with a leather strap. They last longer and you can buy the leather strap if it breaks.

6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)

Yes, a thoroughbred gelding. He is about 15.3-16hh and is a reddish bay with a blaze. He is an absolute sweetheart to handle, but does have a nervous side to him that you have to watch out for.

7. How long have you had a love for horses?

My entire life.

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?

Favorite: Thoroughbred. I don't have a least favorite.

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?

I'm guessing you mean color. I love roans, but I'm not a huge fan of chestnuts.

10. Do you care about conformation?

I feel like it's not hugely important if you're just going to do light stuff with the horse. If you're racing or jumping over 2'6, it becomes highly important. For the stuff that I do, most conformations will work, so I don't think too much about it unless there is something obviously wrong.

11. Favorite horse movie?

Seabiscuit.

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

It looks really pretty and clean, but it's too much work.

13. Do you stall your horse?

No, he is out 24/7. He stocks up if he is left in a stall, so it's better for him to be out and moving.

14. Anything else you might want to add?? Pictures, horsey fun facts, or what ever you'd like.

Do you show? i think showing is good and bad. you have to really be kind to yourself and not get to down if u don't win which can be hard to do. and if you do win you shouldn't rub it in other peoples faces. theres always the snobby people with their top trained horses. but it can be quite rewarding and pushes you to work harder. I've done gymkhanas but no real shows. doing a schooling show maybe next year.

4. Do you use bits?

yes just a snaffle.

5. Rope or nylon halters?

either

6. Do you own a horse? (If yes, what does he or she look like, what is she or he like?)

i own a 9 year old tb mare named roxie. she's dark bay with a star. she loves to go fast and is a very sweet girl :)

7. How long have you had a love for horses? ever since i can remember. i don't remember i day in my life where i didn't love horses!

8. Favorite horse breed and least favourite?

favorite. tbs n qh. lease favorite.. hmm.. im not a fan of most stbs.. but i wouldn't say they are my least favourite.. i really don't know i guess!

9. Favorite horse coats and least favourite?

favourite black bay blue/red roan, palomino. least favourite, chestnut and white.

10. Do you care about conformation?

a little bit. if something in their conformation is going to cause problems and vet bills ill stay away. if I'm looking for a show horse it needs the right conformation for what i want to do. if I'm looking for a trail it doesn't matter as long as it won't effect the horse like i said.

11. Favorite horse movie?

tie between black beauty, spirit and warhorse.

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

looks nice i wouldn't leave a horse out in the pasture with it though.

13. Do you stall your horse?

nope she's on pasture 24/7 comes and stands in a tie stall when i feed her though

14. Anything else you might want to add?? Pictures, horsey fun facts, or what ever you'd like. pictureee http://heartbrokenwolf123.deviantart.com/#/d4zsyrq

1. Over six years, showing for 3

2. Both

3. Showing for 3 years mainly Arab shows

4. Sometimes mainly For showing but only a snaffle. When I'm just hacking around no.

5. I use a rope halter for grou work.

6. I have a 3/4 Arab 1/4 paint horse. Is name is niekko and is mainly White with a partly brown neck ad head and butt.

7. Since I could talk

8. I LOVE Arabs and am not a fan of quarter horses

9. All

10. Kida because it can affect them in old age.

11. Secretariat

12. I do at shows and sometimes to help his hair grow

13. No
2012-08-30 17:32:49 UTC
1. How long have you been riding, or have been around horses?

I got my first horse when I was eight, but I wasn't allowed to ride her. I have ridden maybe... five times in my whole life. I prefer in-hand training to ridden work, it's just as fun and less dangerous. :D

2. Western or English?

English.

3. What's your opinion on showing? Do you show?

I don't show but I don't care either way about it. One day, in the far off, distant future, when I put on big girl panties, I will joust. That probably constitutes showing of some sort.

4. Do you use bits?

Yes, I prefer straight bar rubber bits, but have others. I also use a Dr. Cook's.

5. Rope or nylon halters?

Either or. My nylon halters are fancy so I prefer them. I use a rope halter on my gelding when I cba to unfasten clips.

6. Do you own a horse?y

Currently two. A 17yo+ mare and a gelding, he was her 2010 foal.

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/s720x720/559330_430011920375435_1272084140_n.jpg

The gelding is actually a dragon.

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/484437_438002856243008_1508765550_n.jpg

7. How long have you had a love for horses?

Since I was a wee lass I guess, I remember having horsie toys when I was little. I was never obsessed with them. (Nope. I was a Dr. Alan Grant fan girl.)

8. Favorite horse breed and least favorite?

Favorite... PRE I guess. Least favorite, most gaited breeds. Probably the TWH most.

Ironically, my gelding is half TWH.

9. Favorite horse coats and least favorite?

Favorite is dapple gray, least is just a plain old, drab chestnut.

10. Do you care about conformation?

I do. But that doesn't mean either of mine are built great.

11. Favorite horse movie?

Black Beauty, because Sean Bean is in it.

(Second favorite is War Horse, because Benedict Cumberbatch is in it.)

12. Opinion about braiding horse's mane and tail?

so fuuuuuuuuuun

13. Do you stall your horse?

No.

14. Anything else you might want to add?? Pictures, horsey fun facts, or what ever you'd like.

UMMMM. I typed most of this while eating a sandwich.

1. 4 years

2. English

3. Fine as long as you don't use cruel practices. Yes I show

4. yes, required in our breed for showing

5. depends on what i'm doing. Lunging i prefer rope, regular halter i prefer nylon or leather.

6. yes, a 12 year old Paso Fino mare, very pissi

7. as long as i can remember

8. Paso fino, Tennessee Walking horse

9. Black or seal bay, really ugly roan (some can look nice, some just blag)

10. to a degree yes

11. Hildago

12. i see nothing wrong with it. Considering braiding our fillies mane just because it is so long and thick and it is hot

13. yes

14. supposed to rain tomorrow, and hard. Guess i will find out where the hole are in the roof again, hopefully no one gets drenched before i do (felt bad one day. It had been raining for 2 days straight and no one was emptying the pales we set out in the loft to catch the water. Well there was a stream of water coming out of the pale, through the loft, straight down to my mares rump. Surprisingly she just stood under it even though she could have easily moved. Odd horse).

1. I have been riding and around Horses ALL my life- forever!:)

2. English:)

3. Shows are okay... I dont like BIG ones (Like certain ones, because sometimes they abuse the Horses with tools:( But I do the odd show, and stuff:)

4. Nope, I dont use bits, I dont think its fair that I use tools, anmd put metal in my Horses mouths, just because I cant control or be bothered to change it!... So, NOPE I dont use bits, or spurs. I dont need to, I have an amazing bond with my 4 Horses!:D

5. I use nylon- But I can also use rope. Oh, sorry. I also use leather ones as well!:);)

6. I own 4 amazing Horses! They are ALL absolutley gorgeous, beautiful and perfect! And just everything is perfect about them ALL! I would NEVER want to change them:)

Heres some information on them!:) I have: Dutch WarmBlood, 16.2hh, 15-16yearsold, Bay. Friesian, 15.3hh, 4-5yearsold, Black. Anglo-Arab, 14.2-3hh, 15-16hh, Grey. Thoroughbred, 15.1hh, 8-9yearsold, Chestnut. :D I think thats all:P And obviously more, but I have 4 Horses so it would take alot of space if I put more information!!! LOL

7. I have ALWAYS had a love for ALL Horses!:D <3

8. Well, their ALL my favorite- and I dont have a least favorite.;)

9. Again, Their ALL my favorite; and I dont have a least favorite:')

10. ??? Ermm, well Im not sure, never really thought about it:D Haha<3

11. I like alot, War Horse upsets me alittle bit, as do some others. But I like most Horses movies I see;P

12. LOL, quite random. Well, I sometimes french braid my Horses mane, tail and forelock, and just braiding etc. I do all sorts with itheir hair:):)

13. Well, yes, I do! My Horses like being stalled so they can sleep and then eat as much hay as they want. But, Sometimes they are kept out, sometimes they are kept in! I also rug them when they stay out but its cold:D

14. Sorry, I dont know how to add photos or anything!:( But, I can confirm ALL my Horse are gorgeous and perfect!!!!!<3 <3 Thankyou! And I hope I answered it all right.:P:~D x<3x

1. about 14 years... lessons as a kid, got my first horse 8 years ago.

2. western. i took english lessons because it was the only kind of instruction available around here.

3. i used to.... it's overrated. i would rather have fun, and showing is more stressful than fun for me.

4. nope. i ride in a halter, and occasionally, a bitless bridle. the horse goes better in a halter anyway. scares the hell out of the people i ride with!

5. nylon.

6. yup. he's a qhxarab (byb) chestnut. big old blaze, matching stockings on his back legs only. he's really something!

7. always.

8. i love quarter horses, mostly. my least favorite breed is arabs..... i got some of both when i got my guy.

9. dunn is my favorite. my first horse was dunn. my least favorite is chestnut..... which is the color of my current horse.

10. i like a horse with good confo (swayback= bad, i like my horses to be a bit square throughout and not disproportional) but it is NOT a requirement.

11. umm.... don't much like movies, but i'm a huge fan of the series "heartland"

12. i only braid one massive braid down the mane to keep him from matting it up.... and i don't do that often.

13. i only stall when the weather is outrageously bad. freezing rain, blizzard, etc.... really bad winter nights. stuff like that. the 3 horses we have on our property might be in 15 nights a year.

1. I have been around horses for 25 years.

2. Western (barrel racing)

3. I do rodeos

4. just depends on the horse

5.rope

6.Yes. one bay paint and one roan AQHA

7. all of my life (what I can remember

8.AQHA and APHA

9. I like pretty much all colors, expect some palominos and all sorrels

10.It just depends on what I want to use that horse for. For barrel racing I like a good conformation (it doesn't have to be show perfect)

11. Secretariat and sea biscuit

12.just depends but mostly know because I think it looks pretty net when it just flows

13. Not usually only if it is storming bad
2012-08-31 06:02:29 UTC
1) i've been around horses all my life, my parents use to sit me in the saddle before i could even walk! i started riding lessons when i was about 3.

2) Mainly english, but i have done western and enjoyed it.

3) it's okay as long as you're doing it for the right reasons. i do show, but only a little bit. i like doing showjumping and cross-country.

4) Yes

5) we have both, but i prefer Nylon

6) I have two, just got my second one, annie yesterday!

Annie is a 15.3hh irish draught mare and she is 7. she is a light liver chestnut (only slightly darker than normal chestnut) with 4 white socks and a white star. she is very forward going, super hyper all the time. she is definitely not a novice ride and she is pretty high strung but has a lovely personality once you get to know her.

Quinn is a 15.4hh chestnut arab gelding an he is 9. he is a light chestnut with a blaze and three white socks. he is very wary of any new people/animals/things and is definitely a one-person horse. it took me ages to build the bond between us but now it's very strong. i have had him since he was 3 so i am very attached to him. he is very laid back, but can spook easily especially around traffic.

7) since i was born, one of my first words was horsie

8) i love Irish Draughts, TB's and Gypsy Vanners. i don't really have a one that i hate!

9) CHESTNUT! least favourite is a dark liver chestnut

10) no, i agree with you on that.

11) horse whisperer and black beauty

12) if i'm doing a show then i will braid it, or if i'm bored i'll loosely plait it then unplait it, Quinn loves it.

13) i don't really stall mine unless there is a reason (eg, vet says we should) but my mum bring her TB in on an evening in winter b/c he gets ill otherwise.

i have been riding since before i was born (literally)

western

i love showing/yes i do show

most of the time i use a halter or rope and then i go to a show i use a bridle of course

rope and nylon halters

yes i do own a horse actually 3, 2 wonderful quarter horses(senorita(beautiful gold sorrel) and dixie(beautiful grulla) and a sweet arab(hope a cute chestnut)

i hav loved horses since before i could even remember

my fav breeds are quarter horses and gypsy vanners my least fav r appaloosas(certain ones)

i love all colors except certain apps

i do care about confirmation but believe all horses are beautiful

my fav. horse movie would be maybe my friend flicka, king of the wind, black beauty, hidalgo, and seabiscuit

i like braiding manes during my free time with my horse

we bring our horses up at night or when it snows or something like that

1. About 5 years

2. Both! I don't think I'd be able to choose if my life depended on it! Although right now I'm leaning towards western

3. Showings fun. It all depends on what you wanna do although I have to say some people take it too far. Above all, the horse should come first.

4. Yep! I use a full cheek snaffle. I got it originally thinking about using it with keepers, but when I finally found some my horse hated them like crazy so I don't use them. I'm buying a eggbutt snaffle for my other English bridle. I do occasionally ride with a halter and lead rope, or even tackless though, my horse is green, but listens fine without a bit.

5. I have a nylon halter I keep outside by the gate, and a leather halter I use most of the time and keep inside. I use my trainers rope halter when I'm doing groundwork, but I use the cross-ties alot so I like nylon/leather halters.

6. Yes, he is a 7 year green broke old black Canadian gelding, 15hh. He's a very handsome boy and he knows it. He tends to be quite full of himself. He has an attitude and is definitely not for beginners although he's come a long way manner-wise since I got him 5 months ago. He has a big personally but under the macho act he's a very sweet, innocent boy :)

7. For as long as I can remember!

8. Favorite: theres alot of breeds i like but definitely Canadian, my friend got one and I fell in love. I was amazingly lucky to be able to find one locally :) least favorite - probabably miniature horses :| I think they can be cute, but they just do not appeal to me. At all.

9. Well I think Canadians have some of the nicest coats! They are very strong healthy horses so the oils in their skin make their coats GLOW! They are usually black/brown, or bright bay. I have a thing for paints too :) I don't really like curly horses aha. As far as colour goes, i like black, bright chestnut, red dun and grey. Pretty much anything really shiny catches my eye lol :) I don't really like dark bay (although I there are many gorgeous ones), dark chestnut, or "white" horses.

10. I care about confirmation to a certain point. I don't show that much so it's ok if my horse isn't perfect, but I want them to have good enough confirmation to be balanced, sound and healthy. My horse has a short back & neck, short cannon bones, and he's camped under with his front legs. Not perfect, but he's solid and balanced, and his confirmation doesn't get in the way of his movement.

11. Virginias run :)

12. I braid my horses mane for fun :) I think it looks pretty and they're so many differen ways to do it. I like a more natural look, but I think a nice plaited mane can look super nice

13. No, my horse has a tendency to be impatient in his stall and gets anxious if he's in for too long and I'm not there, or there's no other horses. I don't really have a reason to stall him either, he's happy outside so I'll let him be!

6.no:( I don't have a horse.......yet

7.ever since I knew what a horse was Ive loved them!

8.fave- based on only looks, gypsy vanner, least fave, well I don't really have one

9.cremellos and palominos r my faves, I don't really like whites just cuz they show grass stains and get dirtier easier

10.i don't care about conformation, it honestly doesn't matter

11.fave horse movie, hmm...spirit lol

12.i braid for shows cuz I have to, and I sometimes braid the forelock when I ride cuz I think it's kinda cute

13.half stall time usually night or when they need to be groomed and ridden, otherwise in the pasture!
