Favorites:
Breed? I love AQHAs. I love the temperament, I love the build, I love the versatility, and most of all, I LOVE the gigantic beefy butts :p
Helmet? *coughIdon'twearahelmetcough* The only time I wear a helmet is for Hunt Seat (and even then, only at shows), and that isn't even a helmet- it's a hunt cap that doesn't have straps. So it doesn't do any good.
Boots? I'm a western rider at heart, but I actually like my nice, tall english boots best. I don't have a particular brand that I love, though.
Saddle? For western, Harris all the way. Top of the line, and oh so comfortable. And oh so out of my price range :p For english, I have a Crosby that I love.
Bridle? Again, there's a Harris bridle that I'm currently in love with. Again, miles out of my price range, but it's so pretty!
Color? I have a show outfit that's this gorgeous wormwood blue, and it looks stunning on my horse. So that's my color! EDIT: Sorry, thought you meant outfit colors :) for horse colors, I've always had a soft spot for sorrels and browns. I think they're gorgeous.
Online tack store? Paul Taylors! Cheap, and great quality stuff! Plus, they have hundreds of bits (I love bits. I have an obsession with them), for about 1/4 of the price of anyone else.
You:
How long have you been riding? Uh, since I was 6, so 10 years now (but I took a 1 year break, so technically, 9).
Do you ride english or western? I am a western rider at heart, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for english. Hopefully I'll get to show my horse in Hunt Seat and HUS next year.
In your opinion, what is your greatest achievement? I have two. One was my 4th place in Novice Showmanship at ApHC Youth Worlds, and the other was my 6th place in 14-18 English Showmanship at ApHC Youth Worlds. The 4th place one is pretty obvious (helloooo, top 5?), but I'm really proud of that 6th place because I'm a Novice in ApHC (and the class was not a novice class, it was an age group class), it wasn't even my age group (the age groups in ApHC are 12&under, 13-15, and 16-18. But in classes that they think are going to be small they split them into 13&under and 14-18. I'm in the 13-15 age group, so I was really young to place that high in a 14-18 class), and last, there were 71 people in the class O.o
Do you own a horse? Yep!
What got you started on riding? I always loved horses, and we found a great place to start taking lessons, so my mom got me started riding.
What would you most like to try? Jumping. I have always wanted to try jumping, but sadly, there is not one decent jumping trainer within 2 hours of where I live.
What's your favorite thing to do on horseback? I love cantering in my english saddle. I don't know why, but it makes me happy :p
What do you like most about horses? That it gives me the strength to kick other people's butts if they're jerks, the compassion to want to help people, the kindness to offer someone a hand when they need it, and the patience to help people who don't admit that they need help. All of which I learned from horses.
Horse (This can be a lesson horse, lease horse, your horse, or your dream horse):
Name? His registered name is Dont Skip The Player, barn name Vegas.
Height? 16hh
Color? Really really dark brown. He is solid, except for a little spot on his head, the size of your pinky (bend your pinky as tight as you can, and that's pretty much what his marking looks like).
Gender? Gelding. I'm really more of a gelding person.
Age? 7. But acts like he's two.
Discipline? AQHA all-around (showmanship, horsemanship, western pleasure, western riding, trail (maybe. If he ever learns to pick up his feet), performance halter, hunt seat, hunter under saddle).
How long have you owned/leased/ridden it (Do not answer this one if it's your dream horse, provided your dream horse is a made up horse and not the horse you own!)? I bought him about six months ago.
Temperament? Calm, but if he gets excited or upset, oh boy. He can be quite a pistol sometimes.
