Good name for a mare?

Question

I have a mare I just got, she is a big 17h paint horse. She is pretty nice built.
Her registered name is Smokys Duplicate Doll. She is 8 so I don't want to change her name completely. Her other owners didn't call her anything, they didn't have a nickname. Her name was 'Lil mare'. Lol.
I thought about Dolly and Smoky but those aren't very original, I am 14 and like I said she is 8, so nothing old. I would like a name that people either think I am crazy or awesome for nameing her. Any ideals? Best answer gets 10 points.

You could also go for a barn name that has nothing to do with the registered or show name. My mare's names is Solly (Solitaire) and her show name is Diamond in the Rough. :)



If I were you, I would just go on some of the sites that list loads of them, pick your favourites, and then just try them out over a few weeks. It took me weeks of trying out names to pick on :)

Hey, if you name your horse Dolly, there was one horse named Dolly that won nationals in barrel racing in juniors and another famous barrel horse is named Dolly (made it to the nationalfinalsrodeo) So maybe it's a lucky name?

Be creative, think out of the box and try to find a name that YOU FIND and can be a topic of discussion. Check out some global pet communities and get exposed to some names from abroad, for example...

...Caramela is candy in Greek

...Kalamaras which is squid

...Agapi (love)

...Pathos (Passion).

Ayasha OR Yahzi - (means "little one" since they called her "little mare")
