i don't really want to read the saddle club, or canterwood crest. i am looking for a more of a book that is for teens and has alot more drama and relationships, but still includes horses.

thanks!

This site has a ton of books on it! You may have to look a little to find exactly what you're into to, but I love that I can search by discipline. Others I like are

Chance Meeting and Ride a Dark Horse by Laura Moore

Riders and Polo by Jilly Cooper(a personal favorite)

Chosen by a Horse

The Perfect Distance

I hope you find some great books!

Hearts of Horses (It's a book about a girl who goes to work in the midwest training horses)

Horse People (collection of experiences by Michael Korda, Takes some getting used to but its really good)

Chosen By a horse (Susan Richards memoir about a rescue horse and her life)

I can't think of any others right now. You're right though-- there really is an age gap in the horse literature. These books are all mainly for adults.

The Outside of a horse

My friend Flicka (just a classic really.)

The Horse Whisperer.

Riding Lessons - This book...is amazing, speaking from another teen.

I loooove the book Blind Beauty. It's seriously one of my favorites (the horse reminds me of my Cliff too, so that's a plus). I don't think it has much relationship stuff in it, but it's definitely for older teens and it has a good story.

The person who suggested Heartland is okay, but I find that the books really are for tweens, not older teenagers, but the Canadian TV series is AMAZING and is also definitely for older people (lots of drama and relationships). You can find all of the episodes on youtube.
