Stallion is a horse who can breed. And Gelding is a horse who is fixed and cannot breed. So, geldings cannot breed. A male horse is born a stallion (called a colt, since he is too young to breed). They usually fixed Stallions (turn them into geldings) if they do not want them to breed in the future (usually based on bloodlines).

A gelding is a gelded male horse. Geldings cannot breed. A stallion can breed, and are not gelded (gelded means the same as a male dog being neutered).

A male horse is born a stallion (sometimes called a stud). If wanted, an owner can geld their stallion once their "rollers" have "dropped" (meaning they have grown their manliness, LOL).

A stallion is a male horse that is used for breeding. A young male horse (colt) is born with reproductive ability.

A gelding is when a stallion is "fixed" much like a dog would be fixed so they cannot breed. This is an alteration, which means the horse is born a stallion, but can be made into a gelding. This process is not reversible.

when a male horse is born, he is called a colt. at this point, he is intact but not capable of breeding. when he matures, he becomes a stallion and can be bred to a mare. however, if you don't want to breed your little guy, he is castrated. after that, he is known as a gelding, no matter how old he is. this usually happens before they get to be a year old, but it is sometimes done later. he can be put with mares, as he cannot breed.

A gelding is pretty much a nuetured horse. Male horses are born stallions, and un-nuetured, just like a dog or cat.

You can keep your foal a stallion, but people often dont because they are harder to handle.

A gelding can not breed.

a stallion has the whole male package....a gelding is ummm...fixed/nutered.

obviously a gelding can not breed..well it can mount but has very low testosterone so doesent have thoes types of needs.

and all horses as like any other animal are born with fully intact reproductive organs so in a horses case they are born stallions and are gelded...once they are gelded they become geldings.

Stallions are male horses that have not been spayed/neutered.They can breed and are generally a lot harder to handle. No, horses are not born geldings. Through an operation they become one. They can't reproduce. It's the same thing as spaying or neutering you're dog or cat.

If you want full details, I'd google it.

My farrier comes each and every 6 weeks or so. The vet comes as soon as within the spring and as soon as in fall for movements vaccinations. We even have the vet examine each and every horse's enamel and gather a fecal pattern. It isn't integral to have the pony's enamel floated each and every 12 months. Our horses are frequently nice for two-three years at a time. If anybody does want a waft, we will be able to agenda yet another appointment for the waft(s). Then, most likely, the vet will must be referred to as out if there's a concern. My appaloosa gelding has in no way obvious a vet external of movements visits. My Shire move mare noticed a vet for an allergy a couple of months in the past, however that is all she's wanted in just about three 12 months's time. Each horse's nutritional demands are one of a kind. Unless told in any other case by way of a vet, a horse will have to have entry to unfastened alternative forage. A combined grass hay is well. Our hay is quite often orchard grass, with a few brome, timothy and bluegrass combined in. If not anything else, a horse will have to have a few variety of nutrition complement or a dietary balancer. Limited grazing and grass hay does no longer quite often enable for far kind within the horse's vitamin they usually might fall quick on a few principal vitamins and minerals. Many horses reasonable good on forage by myself, however many don't. If your horse is a more difficult keeper, a constant formulation pelleted feed is most often the great choice. Ultimately, you're great off speakme to an equine nutritionist and establishing a feeding agenda that works for you and your horse, in view that each and every horse and all people's leadership practices and demands are one of a kind. I presently use a kimberwicke on my draft move mare. I might no longer suggest this bit to only someone. It is an English bit however this can be a leverage bit which will have to best be utilized by the correct fingers and within the correct circumstances. I additionally use a D-ring snaffle. D-earrings are rather moderate and use direct strain. They do not pinch the corners of the mouth like a few O-earrings. Egg butt snaffles, and entire-cheek snaffles are well English bits as good.
