I've never cared for goats so I have no idea if Equine fly spray is safe for them, or not. I would suggest you read the labels carefully for that advice, plus to compare the strength of the ingredients. My personal favorite is Ultrashield by Absorbine, it comes in a black bottle. It is fairly expensive, but the ingredients are stronger than many of the other brands and seems to last longer. It also a very common spray and can be found at most tack stores.

I spray my horse's body daily from top to bottom, and then apply spray to my rubber gloved hand and rub their face and insides of their ears.

I would also recommend a good fly mask. I prefer ones with ears, that helps prevent black flies and other pests irritating their tender ears. If you have a horse with a pink nose the long style of face masks help prevent them from sunburning plus it keeps some of the flies away from their nose.

Good luck

we have 3 horses and a vet friend gave us a home made fly spray. Take a name brand spray from the Co-Op or feed store mix 1 bottle of baby oil, refill baby oil bottle with water 2 times, mix all this together in a milk jug, you will have enough fly spray for 2-3 months. The baby oil helps stick the fly spray to the horse. It's great.

Pyrannah/Pyranah [not sure of the spelling] - Comes in a yellow can with black top. BEST stuff out there, IMO. It's lethalll. Lmao. =]

I second the people who said Endure, that stuff is pretty alright.

Note it depends on where you live - Some flysprays work like a CHARM in some areas, but they dont work for squat in others because of the flies. Some are more "immune" to a certain type of flyspray depending on where you are.

I only have one horse, but I have used Farnam Bronco fly spray on her and it seems to work very well. It can be found in most feed stores, but also at Tractor Supply Co. If you have one in your area, that would be the best place to look.

After using flyspray and feed through fly control for many years, we got fly predators and stopped needing sprays. The fly predators are very small stingless wasps that you spread on your property. They hatch and seek out fly eggs and lay their own eggs inside the fly's. Then the fly predator hatches out instead of the fly. This is our third year on the program and our fly population is down about 95% with minimal work. I get mine from spalding labs but i think there are a few companies out there http://www.spalding-labs.com/

I use Gordon's Horse and Pony Spray. It kills flies on contact and doesn't come off with sweat. I have used it for years on my horses and I love it.

first of all put a protactive mask on their head, because otherwise it can cause alot of problems to their eyes. Second, i buy the fancy kind (i dont remember the name) but it has three horses on it. and its a green spray bottle. it works great on my horses
