Why is it that when a human being can so badly mistreat an animal(horse in this case) that alot of people see nothing wrong with it. i mean it is a caring defensless animal that solely depends on its caretaker for food water shelter and love and some of them think that it has no feelings what so ever. they feel hunger thirst love pain and emotions. well i am getting at a pint. i have a horse a 6 yr old recue TB that is registered. and i have had him now for 2months. he came to be beaten in the face with a two by four, emaciated, worming, needing teeth floated, deficiency in vita. and miner. and everything. and had rain rot ring worm thrush, cuts bruises and everything else yet his previous owner got nothing but a $500 dollar fine. it will take more than that in farrier bills for this horses hooves to be proper again yet he got basically off scotch free. i have named the horse DONATELLO for the artist and for part the TMNT donatello michaelagelo, leonardo and raphael.bc he is a fighter

I truly believe that people who mistreat animals have no respect for life of any kind.

One of my favourite quotes is by Mahatma Gandhi. Forgive my paraphrasing as I can't find the original.

"The moral progress of a nation can be judged by the way it treats its animals."

Research has shown that there are three indicators that someone may become a serial killer: bed wetting (obviously bed wetting on its own does not mean someone will become a serial killer), arson and, last but most importantly, animal cruelty. For this last reason alone you would think that laws against animal cruelty would be much more severe. In most cases they are misdemeanours with relatively small fines and jail sentences that are rarely enforced.

All of this makes me very sad.

Stupid people stupidly think that the 'purchase' price of an animal is the only cost involved.

If I'm short on cash and can't afford to Frontline my pets that month, I find it hard to live with myself!

Then there are those that just dump or neglect because of lack of knowledge and finances.

I once purchased a goat from a girl who could tell me nothing about them other than the price. Thank goodness I had been reading up on them for years before I decided to get one. This girl had about 50 of them and knew nothing about worming, vaccination or any of the important stuff!

I stand by my idea that ALL pet owners should be licensed and sit a test regarding the type of pets they wish to own.

Its all too common in our society today. Mainly for 2 reasons.. 1) Financially people can no longer afford it, and cant find the animal a good home.. 2) People are just selfish cruel self-centered twits that cant accept putting an animal before themselves, use animals as status images (IE Paris Hilton), and treat them as objects, not living things

Some times the judgement of God moves slow but when it does it grinds fine like sand........... Its true
